Jules Roth is an investigative reporter and wants nothing more than to work for Dan Mansfield. She barges into his office asking for a job and happens to be there when a big story breaks and she shows what she can do. He hires her on the spot. Then he gets a call from an old friend named Ellis Baum, a famous shoe designer. He wants Dan’s helps in finding a painting of his late mother, last seen in 1939, titled Woman On Fire. Ellis was a child survivor of the Holocaust and this painting means the world to him.
