“I have a hard time with writers who made millions writing about the Holocaust and remained silent about October 7th”
This is not the first time that American author Lisa Barr has written from her Jewish background and from being a second generation Holocaust survivor, but when her current book was released in the shadow of October 7, she faced completely different issues. In an interview for “The Warsaw Star,” she talks about her fear of going to events in the US as a pro-Israeli (“It felt like 1933”), why it’s important to write sex scenes even in the ghetto, and her anger at the cultural world: “My books were purchased for film adaptation, and I will not allow anyone who did not stand by our side to be associated with the work.”
